Mrs Worby, who uses a SEVEN Digital Lifeline alarm and pendant, had a fall at home when getting up in the night. She told us what happened.

“I fell backwards and landed on the floor at the end of my bed. Straight away I knew I’d done something. I’d broken my hip. It was agony. I had my pendant on, and I pressed it. Almost straight away a voice answered, just like they normally do, asking ‘can I do anything for you?’ “I said, ‘I’ve had a fall, and I can’t get up.’
“She said, ‘I’ll call an ambulance for you Mrs Worby.”
First on the scene were neighbours who were an emergency contact with the receiving centre. They were able to wait with Mrs Worby for the ambulance crew and a family member. Mrs Worby was taken to hospital and had a hip replacement the following day. Commenting on the experience, Mrs Worby said:
Thank goodness everything was on my side. I’m very grateful. I’ve got a lot to thank you for. I dread to think what I would have done if I hadn’t been wearing my pendant, it really did save my life.

A caring and knowledgeable team
Our Community Link team can help find the right devices for our clients based on their individual needs. We have a range of options to improve personal safety and independence in and out of the home. The team will ensure devices are well positioned in the home for maximum effectiveness and explain and demonstrate how they work so users are confident in an emergency. We combine alarm installations with free smoke detector from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, which we link to the receiving centre.
The SEVEN Digital Lifeline alarm

The alarm, with its linked trigger, can be used in your home, enabling reliable emergency assistance at the press of a button from our alarm receiving centre 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Community Link Partnership and Project Officer Philip, described why the devices can be especially important to help residents stay independent in their own homes:
“Our devices are so important to people living alone. Often calls are at night because it is dark and you are tired, and you are more likely to trip and fall. The pendant or wrist worn triggers are cleverly designed, so you don’t accidentally press them, but help is at hand exactly when you need it.”
SEVEN can connect with a wide range of other accessories as part of a comprehensive personal safety system tailored to you. We also provide GPS devices which offer support when out and about.

The Community Link service is regulated and audited by the TEC Services Association using a robust “Quality Standards Framework” and our service exceeds the essential criteria.
