Further support to boost local volunteering
Facilitated by UK Government Shared Prosperity Funding, we will be launching another round of volunteer support training sessions to help local community groups and charities to recruit and retain volunteers in Autumn 2025.
This new offer builds on last year's successful training programme, where over 80 volunteers and 50 organisations were upskilled on a range of topics like volunteer recruitment, good practice in volunteer management, as well as volunteer ‘connect and coffee’ mornings.
Thank you for providing yet more helpful and interesting training, this will help me support my volunteers in a more positive way.

Volunteer Support Grants
Volunteer Support grants were also available in 2024 with 15 voluntary groups receiving grants towards volunteer days, training, marketing, and more.
A total of nearly 300 volunteering opportunities were reported to have been supported or created through the fund.
A further fund was launched for Volunteers’ Week in June 2025. Applications are currently being assessed.
The new training offer for 2025 will seek to further build the resilience of local voluntary groups and enable more local people to access volunteering opportunities.
There is a volunteering role for everyone!
