Councillor Tony Bevis is Horsham District Council Chairman for the civic year 2025-26.
The Chairman has several duties, including leading full Council meetings and acting as the official representative of Horsham District Council on civic and ceremonial occasions, as well as attending community events. Tony is supported by Councillor Joanne Knowles, Vice-Chairman of the Council.
His chosen charity for this civic year is Citizens Advice. This national charity and network of local charities make a significant contribution to individuals and communities. Their aim is to help people by providing free impartial advice and information. Core to their mission is their support for everyone without discrimination, and as advocates for positive change.
Citizens Advice in West Sussex is an independent local charity which serves our residents. Last year they helped some 40,000 people across the county with problems including homelessness, food poverty, discrimination and financial inclusion. It is a charity managed and used by people within the community, ensuring services meet local needs.
The charity provide trustworthy, practical advice. They offer a safe space to access support and continue to be vital to our residents.
