A year of volunteering

A year of volunteering is planned by our new Chair

We are delighted to welcome the new Chair of Horsham District Council, Councillor Joanne Knowles, into the role for 2026 to 2027.

Joanne has chosen volunteering as the core civic theme for her year in office.

This focus recognises the vital role that volunteers play in our communities. Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to build experience, skills and confidence and Joanne is particularly keen to promote volunteering for young people.

Our Chair attends many local events. If you have a charity, community group, or run a service for the residents of the District and have an event that you would like Joanne to attend, please contact chairman@horsham.gov.uk.
