Collaborative work to create a new games room in Steyning

Edition: March 2025

Our Neighbourhood Wardens for Steyning, Bramber and Upper Beeding were excited to open a new games room they have been working on for Dingemans Court residents (a Saxon Weald over 55s development in Steyning) in January this year.

Pool table

The games room, which was created in an underutilised room at Dingemans Court, offers residents darts, indoor bowls, a pool table, table football, cornhole and many other games as well as space to do crafts and puzzling.

The project identified an opportunity to make a difference to the quality of life for the residents, to offer them some additional provision and an area in which to socialise. Permission for the project was granted by Saxon Weald and it utilised funding from The Wilson Memorial Trust.

Amanda White from Saxon Weald commented:

“The games room has made a huge difference to the residents here at Dingemans. They had been asking for a long time for this room to be put to good use and a games room was always their hope. Residents have used the room with their families to keep the children entertained.

“All the residents and I would like to thank you for your work in pulling this room together and assure you that it will very much get used.”
