Discounts and exemptions are available to help people to pay their Council Tax.

You could be eligible for Council Tax Support if you have a low income or claim benefits. There are also discounts that may apply to you or someone you know, for example if you are the only adult in a property, are a carer or in education.
Increased support
Following a public consultation, we have increased the support for vulnerable residents to help them pay their Council Tax.
We will now pay up to 100% of the Council Tax due for the lowest income taxpayers of Horsham District, an increase from the current 90% discount. Other changes to the means tested criteria within the Council Tax Reduction Scheme have been agreed to benefit eligible residents.
We have increased the support to cover the equivalent Council Tax of a property valued at Band E (previously Band D) and increased the limit on the savings people can have before we start to reduce the support they can receive.
These updates to the Scheme will be implemented from 1 April.
