Edition: November 2026
This summer, we have continued our programme of improvements to play areas across the District.
At Parbrook Play Area and open space in Billingshurst, between Berrall Way and Stane Street, we identified an opportunity to expand the play facilities for slightly older children.
More ways to play at Parbrook
Using feedback from residents and councillors, our Parks team chose two exciting additions to the play space: a snake swing and a zip wire.
The team worked with local contractors to design a new seating area next to the existing recreational trail. Vegetation surrounding the play area has been thinned, making the space lighter, more visible and safer.
The project was developed in line with the principles of the new Horsham District Inclusive Spaces Guide, which draws on the national Make Space for Girls campaign.
