Edition: July 2025
Horsham District’s Think Futures Programme, delivered by the Careers team at West Sussex County Council, has been extended for another year.

This Programme supports young people not in employment, education or training, helping them to gain the skills and confidence they need to enter the workplace.
Supported by Horsham District Council, the programme has been facilitated by an additional allocation of the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
With a particular focus on vulnerable young people, careers advisers provide 1:1 impartial career advice, guidance and support to access college courses, apprenticeships, training and employment.
Think Futures supported over 75 young people in Horsham in 2024.
Getting local learners back on track
One example of a young person supported through Think Futures is a Year 12 student who was studying at a local college. He needed support following the news that he had failed some of his exams and would need to seek an alternative route to continue his education and achieve his aspiration to study Physics at university.
The Careers team equipped him with comprehensive, quality, bespoke careers support including advice on alternative degree and apprenticeship routes. The team also helped him understand his learning needs to help prepare for future exams. The support resulted in a great outcome, with him now studying Engineering at another local college, which was provided with an assessment report from the Careers team to help him access better support for his specific learning needs.
