Edition: July 2025
As we slip out of the summer months and head into autumn people begin to think about glittering frost and festivities.

However, winter can also bring challenges. As you get older it can feel like it takes more of an effort to get out, be active and stay socially connected during the darker colder months.
Our Winter Warm Up events
These are designed to help those aged 50 plus to prepare for winter by thinking about their physical and mental wellbeing. They will provide a variety of free activities as well as the opportunity to get advice and support from a range of organisations offering help with income maximisation, health and wellbeing, keeping safe, and much more.
Dates for your diary
Come along to The Bridge Leisure Centre, in Broadbridge Heath on Tuesday 21 October and Chanctonbury Leisure Centre in Storrington, on Thursday 23 October, where the Winter Warm Up team will make sure you know exactly what’s happening and when.
There will be a full programme of free taster activities to try out, for all abilities, across a wide range of interests and including some self- care opportunities too.
There will also be plenty of stalls in the community marketplace offering information and freebies to browse around – all designed to help you get set for the winter season with a taster of healthy warmth and community fun.
Horsham Winter Warm Ups are being organised by Horsham District Council in partnership with local businesses, statutory organisations and voluntary sector partners.
