There is a spread of projects which continue to improve environmental standards throughout the District.

Positive actions

Since opening in July 2020, The CCF has supported 56 projects around the District to reduce their carbon impact and add value to their communities. Many of these projects have involved reducing energy by using LED lights, solar panels, heat pumps, insulation, and smart thermostats.

The grant also funds initiatives that reduce waste and water use, increase biodiversity, and enable cycling, walking and use of public transport. Other successful projects include installing hot composters and bike racks, community gardens, rainwater collection, and reducing landfill waste. Some of the projects have also promoted actions that people can take to reduce their environmental impact, such as training people on carbon neutral gardening and understanding how to make homes more energy efficient.
