Edition: November 2024
This October marked two years since the launch of the Parish and Neighbourhood Council Climate Action Network.
This network came out of a series of workshops in the autumn of 2022 to help Parish and Neighbourhood Councils formulate and implement climate action plans, and to understand their influence as a council.
The aim of the network is to connect all the Parish and Neighbourhood Councils within Horsham District in their climate action, and we are pleased that it has continued to grow over these past two years, with almost 80% of our Parish and Neighbourhood Councils involved.
Celebrating successes
This year we would like to celebrate the partnership that Steyning, Ashurst, Bramber and Upper Beeding have developed. These four parishes are geographically close and have developed a joint Climate Action Plan to support each other with delivering climate action, including having quarterly meetings to discuss progress and action.
Their climate actions include updating their websites to include climate information, reducing the emissions from their buildings, engaging with the local green group (Greening Steyning, Bramber and Upper Beeding), and supporting active transport.
Get involved
If you want to find out more and get involved in climate friendly initiatives near you, a great way to start is by reaching out to your Parish or Neighbourhood Council or local community groups.
