Promoting wellbeing in the workplace

Did you know that in the 2023/24 financial year, 29.6million workdays were lost and were attributed to work-related ill-health?
A healthy and well workforce is a happy and thriving workforce. Our Health and Wellbeing team can support employees and employers by identifying early risk factors attributed to ill health.
Our workplace services with Horsham District Wellbeing can offer a variety of support to businesses including one- to-one Wellbeing Checks, talks and workshops which adopt a preventative approach aiming to empower employees to improve their health and wellbeing. This might include setting goals about increasing their activity levels during the working day and taking regular breaks.
One workplace that took advantage of the support was Baker & Baker. The team sought support from the Horsham District Wellbeing’s workplace health offer. We delivered NHS Health Checks for employees aged 40 to 74, and Wellbeing MOTs for those aged 18+. Hear what Laurel, their HR Manager, had to say:
“What we know at Baker & Baker is that if you really want productive, present and loyal employees; showing you care has to be at the top of that list.
Supporting colleagues’ wellbeing can be simple, and I think that both the Wellbeing MOT Checks, and the NHS Health Checks are really important; it’s a great place for any business to start.

"What I like about the support that Horsham District Wellbeing provides is that each employee is given something that they can take away from the session. Horsham District Wellbeing has been incredibly flexible in working with our shift patterns and schedules, ensuring everyone who wants support can access it.”
