Free school meals

If you receive a benefit your child could be eligible for free school meals

Even if they are receiving free lunches in early years, it is still worth registering as it also means a grant for your child’s school to support their education and access free Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programmes.

Social tariffs

Social tariffs are cheaper for broadband and phone packages for people claiming Universal Credit, Pension Credit and some other benefits.

Pension credit

If you are over State Pension age, you may be eligible to claim Pension Credit, even if you own your own home or have savings.

People who claim Pension Credit may also be able to get the Winter Fuel Payment, help with rent and Council Tax, a free TV licence, and help with the cost of NHS services. Check your eligibility on the Government website or by calling 0800 991234

Priority Services Register

Joining your energy supplier's Priority Services register means you'll be able to get a range of extra help when you need it, such as priority support in an emergency.

You can ask to join your supplier's Priority Services Register if you have reached state pension age, are pregnant or have young children, if you're living with a disability or a long-term medical condition, as well as a number of other situations.
