Edition: July 2023
I am delighted to have been elected as the new Leader of the Council and to welcome you to this summer edition of our residents’ magazine.
As we enjoy longer days and sunnier months, there is so much to look forward to across our District.
In this edition we showcase free and low-cost summer activities for all and feature some of our great volunteering opportunities. We celebrate our fascinating architectural heritage and look back at the historic scenes we created with community celebrations right across
the District over the Coronation weekend.
Look out for our draft Climate Action Strategy, support for businesses on their way to becoming carbon neutral and some fantastic work with Wilder Horsham District, inspiring the next generation of climate heroes.
Finally, I want to say a big thank you to some of our readers. Following our spring article ‘Enabling activities for everyone’ Ewan, a former Horsham Wheels for ALL group attendee, and the family and friends of the late Mr Bill Dare, generously donated trikes for our inclusive cycling sessions.
Mr Dare’s daughter commented: “I’m so glad Dad's trike will be put to good use. I know he would be very happy.”
I couldn’t be more grateful to the fantastic individuals and communities that make Horsham District such a great place to live and work.
It is a privilege to lead the Council and I look forward to ensuring the Council continues to deliver excellent services for the benefit of all residents and local businesses.
Cllr Martin Boffey, Leader of Horsham District Council
