60 restaurants and shops join Horsham’s Sussex Six campaign
South Lodge Hotel has officially joined the Sussex Six campaign. Sixty quality shops and hospitality businesses are now part of the campaign, which is a pledge to take on at least six new locally-sourced products.
South Lodge has committed to increase the already extensive Sussex seasonal ingredients and local produce used to create the menus in their three award-winning restaurants, Botanica, Camellia and The Pass. Dan Wait, General Manager of South Lodge, said:
“Sussex Six represents everything that we believe in at South Lodge, and we are delighted to take on the challenge of bringing even more local produce into our restaurants.”
He recently joined a business event held by the Sussex Six team at Firebird Brewing with local food and drink businesses, sharing successes on making businesses more environmentally sustainable. Other businesses participating in the scheme include farm shops and local high street independent shops, delis, cafés, pubs and restaurants across the Horsham District.
Details of supporting businesses can be found on the Sussex Six pages of sussexfoodanddrink.org - the online directory for Sussex produce. Please support these businesses and your local community.
Another great sign-up for the campaign is its first major event, Loxwood Joust Medieval Festival. They will be serving local food and drink, including Loxwood Mead, Trenchmore’s Wagyu Beef burgers, Silly Moo Cider, Langham Brewery ale and Cabin Pressure Sloe Gin,
at their Medieval Festival on the first three weekends of August in Loxwood Meadow near Billingshurst.
The Sussex Six campaign is organised by Natural Partnerships CIC with support from Horsham District Council and is part-funded by the UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
