We can support you to make small, sustainable changes to achieve a lasting difference.

Who is it for?

Our free 12-week course is for those that live or work in the District with a BMI between 25 and 40. Howard’s experience: Howard completed WOW last year having been referred by the mental health charity Richmond Fellowship. Howard was struggling with his mental health and felt it was partly to do with his weight. He also found his weight was restricting him from taking part in daily activities.

Each week involved an interactive session with a focus on a different topic such as barriers and triggers, hydration, different food groups, portion sizes, eating out, snacking, sleep, stress, food and mood. The course Howard opted for also included an introduction to exercise. At the end of the course Howard had lost over three stone and had gone down several notches on his belt. Before the course even a short walk would mean having to take breaks, however now he can walk for miles and goes to the gym daily.

Speaking about his experience Howard said:

“I would thoroughly recommend it, it’s enjoyable and fun and great to get nutritious ideas for snacking."
