The Community Climate Fund is a grant available to non-profit groups and organisations for projects which reduce their carbon emissions and create community value locally.
Recent success stories
Springboard solar project
The Springboard Project will be reducing their carbon dioxide emissions with 23 solar panels which will eventually cover up to 60% of their energy usage. This furthers the organisation’s goal of limiting environmental impact for future generations as well as showing community leadership by switching to renewable energy and reducing their carbon footprint.
Shipley Community Hub
We have funded Shipley Community Hub for services that aim to decrease the amount of waste that ends up in landfill sites and reduces Shipley’s carbon footprint.
Improvements have been made to their Repair Café, as well as support to start a ‘Re-love Pre-loved station’ and 'Borrow Library’ to facilitate the sharing of community goods.
Developing the Shipley Repair Café to hosting several repair stations and offering home fixes for bigger items has been incredibly successful. They have repaired 48 items ranging from sewing machines to hoverboards, vacuum cleaners to guitars, food processors to hot tub pumps. An amazing 93% repair rate has already led to carbon savings equivalent to driving 5,600 miles.
The Community Climate Fund offers up to £5,000. Your organisation can apply once a year, provided it is for a new project in each application. The next round of funding is open for the whole month of January 2025.
