Edition: July 2024
Councillor Nigel Emery is our new Chairman for the civic year 2024-25.
The Chairman has several duties, including chairing full Council meetings and acting as the official representative of Horsham District Council on civic and ceremonial occasions, as well as attending community events.
His chosen charity for this civic year is Chanctonbury Community Leisure. The Registered Charity was formed in the wake of the national lockdown and manages Chanctonbury Leisure Centre. Nigel has chosen this charity because they have become a core provider of essential services in the community. From projects tackling social isolation, food wastage, wellbeing, education and training to hosting a popular chatty café as well as providing excellent sports and health facilities for all, their great impact stretches across the whole of the south of the District and further.
Our Chairman attends many local events. If you have a charity, community group, or run a service for the residents of the District and have an event that you would like Nigel to attend, please contact chairman@horsham.gov.uk.
Nigel is supported by Councillor Tony Bevis, Vice-Chairman of the Council.
