During the spring months, there was much excitement at Warnham Local Nature Reserve as a Little Bunting was spotted in the Bullfinch hide.
Still a very rare visitor to the UK, this was the first recorded sighting for the Reserve, and only the 20th sighting in Sussex since records began.
Little Buntings breed in the taiga forests across Russia in areas with scattered birches, often near water. They usually winter in the warm climes of Southeast Asia.
The news of its arrival attracted visitors and bird enthusiasts from across the District and beyond.
